Daniel Hudson Has Rough Afternoon; Gives Up Five Runs In Five Innings

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) – Dallas Braden picked up a long-awaited win and was backed by three RBI from battery mate Kurt Suzuki as Oakland held off the White Sox in a 6-4 win to close out a three-game set at the Coliseum.

Braden (5-7) won for the first time since tossing the 19th perfect game in major league history way back on May 9 versus Tampa Bay. The lefty had gone 0-5 since in nine starts, but held Chicago to three runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings Sunday to break out of the funk.

Daric Barton knocked in two as the Athletics took the final two games in the series and won for the fourth time in five games overall.

Daniel Hudson (1-1) was charged with six hits and five runs with four walks over five innings for his second major league defeat and Chicago’s third in four games.
