Marlon Byrd’s outstanding play in the All-Star Game helped the National League win for the first time in 14 years.↵
Tomorrow, he’ll be a hero to kids at the Union League Boys and Girls Club in Chicago before the Cubs’ night game with the Phillies:↵
He’ll visit more than 100 kids as they participate in gym, computer, library and art activities. This is the official launch of a community outreach program created by the Cubs and Steiner Sports Memorabilia, Inc., which will include a clinic Monday at Wrigley Field. Byrd will be joined by Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster at the clinic, which will allow 50 kids to play on the field.↵
Byrd and Dempster are two of the good guys, always giving back to the community and raising money for good causes. Good for them.
