The Cubs haven’t said much on the topic, but Big Z is not yet throwing and might not be done with his anger management therapy. “We’re still in limbo,” manager Lou Piniella said Thursday. Zambrano was suspended indefinitely by the club after going on a tirade in the dugout in late June.
It doesn’t seem likely that Z will return before the end of July, and it’s still possible that management is working on a trade that could send him elsewhere before he ever puts on a Cubs uniform again.
