A Chicago Team Is In The Playoffs!

The Arena Football League, which had a season-long hiatus a year ago, is back in 2010 and the Chicago Rush is back in the playoffs; they’ve made it every year of the league’s existence.

They’re drawing pretty well, too:

Receivers Syvelle Newton and Marco Thomas, who signed with the team in mid-June, combined to catch 20 of Russ Michna’s passes for 272 yards and five touchdowns as the Rush clinched a postseason berth by beating the Arizona Rattlers 55-50 Saturday before 8,452 at Allstate Arena.

The playoffs don’t start till August; there are still two regular season games left and the Rush could still win their division title outright. Arena football isn’t for everyone, but it is relatively inexpensive entertainment: most tickets are $35 or less.
