The Deep Dish spoke earlier today about the possibility that the Cubs could look to deal Tom Gorzelanny.
↵After last night’s loss to the Indians, Ozzie Guillen was philosophical about the thought his team could be broken up:
↵↵↵“Whatever (the front office is) going to go, nobody has the right to criticize them, because all of sudden we give up,” Guillen said. "(Trades are) not a give-up, it’s just part of the business (of paring payroll). If we continue the way we’re playing, I don’t blame them. If we start playing better and show a little life, I bet Kenny is not going to do anything.
↵“My hope is we play better to make sure they don’t make any moves.”
↵Even losing pitcher Jake Peavy, whose deserved better after giving up only two runs over seven strong innings, knows the drill, even though he has been here barely more than half a season.
↵“It’s Kenny’s call,” Peavy said. “I’m one of the guys, if he did something, he could do something with. I don’t know. That’s the GM’s job and I won’t ever get into that.”

The Sox start today only 1.5 games out of last place and with at least one trading chip — Paul Konerko — who could be useful to several contenders. Stay tuned.
