Soccer At Wrigley? Past Meets Future

Outdoor soccer may return to Wrigley if a proposed game for the MLS Chicago Fire can come to reality:

According to a source with knowledge of the negotiations, the Fire and Cubs are kicking around the possibility of having Chicago’s MLS club play Mexico’s Club America in a friendly at the Friendly Confines.

Sounds like fun (ha, ha, I get it: “kicking around”). I have always liked the soccer term “friendly” for what is essentially an exhibition game. Maybe baseball can borrow that term for spring training games.
