With the excitement of the USA win in the World Cup yesterday passing until they play again, there are still a few first-round games to go. Oh, and the Sox and Cubs both play day games, headed in opposite directions.
↵8:30 am, ESPN: Slovakia vs. Italy
↵8:30 am, ESPN2: Paraguay vs. New Zealand
↵In both of these games, you will get to see players from countries you don’t pay any attention to except during the World Cup.
↵11 am, ESPN2: Wimbledon. The Isner-Mahut match from yesterday, suspended after breaking all kinds of records for longest tennis match in creation, should be resumed about this time.
↵1 pm, WGN: White Sox vs. Braves. The Sox go for their ninth win in a row.
↵2:30 pm, CSN Chicago: Cubs vs. Mariners. The Cubs have scored more than one run in a game once in their last four tries; that was Sunday’s 12-run outburst vs. the Angels. Do not expect a repeat of that today.
↵↵6:30 pm, ESPN: NBA Draft. Men in suits sitting around talking about young, tall basketball players who will be given enormous sums of money to play professionally.
