What's On Sports TV Tonight?

The Cubs are off. The White Sox are off. The Blackhawks, Stanley Cup in hand, are out and about showing off their prize and have faded, for the moment, from TV screens.

What’s a sports fan to do on this otherwise very slow night for sports television?

↵

Here are a few suggestions. Yes, they aren’t very good. Like I said, it’s a slooooow sports TV night. All times Central.

↵

7:00 pm, CSN Chicago: MLL Lacrosse, Boston Cannons vs. Chicago Machine. SHHH! I won’t tell if you won’t, but this is a taped replay of a game played yesterday. I won’t tell you the score so you can be surprised if you decide to watch. Also, for some reason, a Boston/Chicago game was played in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

↵

7:00 pm, NFL Network: replay of a 2003 divisional playoff game between the Rams and Panthers. The two teams have combined to play eight playoff games since then (six for Carolina, two for St. Louis).

↵

8:00 pm, ESPN2: College World Series Game 6, UCLA vs. TCU. I’m not crazy about the college game, with aluminum bats making for long, high-scoring games. But hey, if you’ve got nothing else to watch…

↵

9:00 pm, ESPN: Yankees vs. Diamondbacks. The Eastern Sports Programming Network gets a pass for featuring the Yankees tonight, since their other two choices would be Reds/A’s or Royals/Nationals.

↵

Maybe you should go to a movie tonight.
