Wrigleyville Retail/Hotel Complex Passes Next Hurdle

The Chicago Plan Commission yesterday approved a mixed use hotel/retail/residential complex that developers want to build on the block south of Wrigley Field on Clark Street:

Testimony before the Plan Commission was divided. Some community members and representatives of business groups backed it, but Jill Peters, president of the Southport Neighbors Association, said six of nine community groups in the immediate area are on record opposing it.

Another resident said, “This proposal is a sterilization and suburbanization of the area.”
