The Atlanta Thrashers reportedly have asked for and been granted permission to speak to Hawks associate coach John Torchetti to fill their head coaching vacancy.

The Thrashers fired head coach John Anderson on April 14. Anderson had success coaching the Wolves — hmmm. If Torchetti leaves, maybe the Blackhawks could approach Anderson as his replacement?
