The strains of car horns, fireworks, and the opening segments of Chelsea Dagger are still wafting through the windows of my apartment as I write this. The Blackhawks have brought a championship to Chicago, and the city has lost its mind in happiness.
Even though the win occurred far from home ice of the United Center, large sections of the city have come to a standstill as revelers pour out of bars and homes and into the streets on this warm summer night. As I drove home I captured some of the scenes in the Lakeview neighborhood:
