In Progress: White Sox Try to Stop Skid at Cell

The White Sox struck first on this pleasant evening in Chicago as a Carlos Quentin sac fly turned a single by Paul Konerko and double by A.J. Pierzynski into the first run of the night.

The Angels would have their revenge in the fourth, however. John Danks issued a one out walk to Bobby Abreu, and then promptly gave up a home run to Torii Hunter to put the Halos on top 2-1.

The Sox couldn't seem to get anything going until the sixth inning when Gordon Beckham walked and became the Sox first base runner since the run scoring second inning. The pale hose couldn't capitalize, however, loading the bases with two outs only to have Alex Rios end the inning on a pop out to shallow left.

The Angels added another run in the top of the eighth to make it 3-1 on a Jayson Nix fielding error. With two outs in the top of the eighth, time is running short for the Sox to mount a comeback.
