Your Sports TV Schedule, Thursday 12/9

The Bulls and Blackhawks are both off today, so your choices are a couple of top-25 college basketball games, a rather random NFL game (no, we wouldn’t have said that if the Colts weren’t 6-6), and some NBA and NHL choices.

6 p.m., Big Ten Network: IUPUI at No. 2 Ohio State. The oddly named Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis is, I am certain, a good school. But it is best known for the way some pronounce its acronym: “oo-ee poo-ee”.

↵

6 p.m., CSN Chicago: NHL, Flyers at Maple Leafs. Think of the Leafs as the Cubs of the NHL… except they won the Stanley Cup 43 years ago. If only the Cubs had won that recently.

6 p.m., Versus: NHL, Panthers at Capitals.

↵

7 p.m., TNT: NBA, Celtics at 76ers.

↵

7 p.m., NFL Network: Colts at Titans. Who would have guessed when this season started that Peyton Manning would be fighting to keep his team over .500 in week 14?

9:30 p.m., TNT: NBA, Magic at Trail Blazers.
