This is the first Tuesday in a while where there’s no college football game (I know, sacrilege). The Bulls and Blackhawks are both off today. So there’s a shorter-than-usual schedule. Take a breather and take in some college basketball.
↵6 p.m., ESPN: College basketball, No. 14 Memphis vs. No. 4 Kansas. Check out what Derrick Rose’s old school is up to.
↵6:30 p.m., Versus: NHL, Sabres at Bruins.
↵7:30 p.m., NBA-TV: Warriors at Mavericks.
↵8 p.m., ESPNU: College basketball, No. 18 Purdue at Valparaiso. Valpo is first in the Horizon League, but has already lost badly (79-44) to a top-25 team (Kansas). The Big Ten is among the top conferences in the nation, with five teams in the top 20 in the rankings this week.
↵8 p.m., ESPN: College basketball, No. 8 Michigan State at No. 7 Syracuse. At least one school from Michigan isn’t loading up on cupcakes during December — the Spartans have already taken on two top-25 teams this season, and Syracuse gives them a tough test, particularly as the visiting team.
