Blackhawks Vs. Devils Preview: The Defense Goes Forward

The Blackhawks look to get back on the winning side of things when they host the New Jersey Devils at the United Center at 7:30 p.m. CDT Wednesday night.

According to Chicago Breaking Sports, a line shakeup is going to have two defenseman playing forward tonight:

The Blackhawks' Jordan Hendry and John Scott will get a different view from the ice Wednesday night when they take on the Devils at the United Center.

Normally defensemen, the duo will play on a forward line with Fernando Pisani against New Jersey. Scott has played up front several times but it's Hendry's first stint as a winger this season.

Coach Joel Quenneville is trying to get some offense out of a team that's been plagued by injuries so far this season, but if either Hendry or Scott scores or assists, it'll be their first point of the season.

Marian Hossa did participate in some of the drills during the morning skate, but isn't expected back for another week or so. Marty Turco will start in goal against the league-worst Devils, who are off to a terrible 3-9-1 start and have only seven points, along with a league-low 20 goals. Goalie Martin Brodeur has a 2.81 GAA during the Devils' current six-game road trip, but New Jersey has gone just 1-4 so far on that season-longest trip.

The game will be televised on CSN Chicago.
