Happy Thanksgiving from SB Nation Chicago! There’s plenty of sports action on TV today — more than just football. The football games match three teams with losing records against three with winning records. Watch out for the Cowboys, who seem rejuvenated under new coach Jason Garrett. There’s also basketball and hockey action today — and if you’re in the mood, replays of Cubs and White Sox games from this past summer.
↵11 a.m., CSN Chicago: MLB, Cubs vs. Astros from July 20. This was the day that Lou Piniella announced his retirement. The Cubs went out and blasted Houston 14-7, causing some wits to say Lou should retire every day.
↵11:30 a.m., CBS-2: NFL, Patriots at Lions. This should be a “gimme”, but the Lions have played better than their 2-8 record.
↵2:30 p.m., CSN Chicago: MLB, White Sox vs. Royals from July 11, 2010. The Sox went into first place with this 15-5 pounding of Kansas City, the day before the All-Star break. It was the eighth win of a nine-game winning streak.
↵3:15 p.m., Fox-32: NFL, Saints at Cowboys. Amazingly enough, the 3-7 Cowboys do still have a shot at the playoffs.
↵6 p.m., ESPN2: College basketball, Old Spice Classic: Georgia vs. Notre Dame.
↵7 p.m., TNT: NBA, Wizards at Hawks.
↵7:20 p.m., NFL Network: Bengals at Jets. Stuffed with turkey, you can now stuff your NFL desire with the third game of the day. (Hope it doesn’t turn into a turkey of a game.)
↵8 p.m., ESPN2: College basketball, Old Spice Classic, No. 20 Temple vs. California.
↵8 p.m., NHL Network: Avalanche at Oilers. Today isn’t Thanksgiving in Canada, so they’ll play hockey in Edmonton just like any other Thursday. It’s the only NHL game today.
↵9:30 p.m., TNT: NBA, Kings at Clippers. Finish off your holiday sports TV meal with some basketball.
