Harry Caray's In Wrigleyville Will Close Next Week

Harry Caray’s restaurant has several locations — the flagship downtown at Dearborn & Kinzie, one in Rosemont and one in Lombard.

And as of this morning, they had a location less than a block from Wrigley Field at 3551 N. Sheffield in a space that was once home to a popular Lakeview bar/restaurant called Hi-Tops.

The Wrigley area Harry Caray’s was a popular place for Cubs fans, busy even during road trips. During the Cubs news conference this morning announcing their request for a bond issue to help renovate Wrigley Field, Grant DePorter, CEO of Harry Caray’s, was one of several local business and labor leaders who made a brief statement.

He surprised everyone by announcing that the Wrigleyville Harry Caray’s will close by next Monday. He was quoted in that article as saying his relationship with the building’s owner was like a “bad marriage.”

Fear not, Cubs fans and Lakeview residents who enjoyed Harry Caray’s. DePorter says they’ll be looking for a new space in the area.
