Blackhawks Set Opening Roster; Waive Potulny, Cullimore

The Blackhawks' final 22-man opening day roster was set yesterday when they waived free agent forward Ryan Potulny and veteran defenseman Jassen Cullimore.

From the Chicago Sun-Times article linked above, here is the complete roster:

Up front, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Dave Bolland, Troy Brouwer, Tomas Kopecky and Bryan Bickell return from last season. Fernando Pisani, Jack Skille, Jake Dowell and Viktor Stalberg will fill out the lines. New goalie Marty Turco and backup Corey Crawford take over in net.

Defensemen Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Brian Campbell, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Nick Boynton, Jordan Hendry, John Scott and Nick Leddy will man the blue lines. With Campbell out at least four weeks with a sprained knee and Boynton suspended for the first game, the pairings against the Avalanche will be Keith-Seabrook, Hjalmarsson-Leddy and Hendry-Scott.

The Hawks open the season tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 7, in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche. The game begins at 8 p.m. CDT and will be televised on Versus.
