College Football Rankings: And Then There Were Five

The new AP and USA Today coaches college football polls have been released and to no one's surprise, Oregon continues to rank No. 1 in both polls.

Boise State, who won last Tuesday -- is there any day of the week left where college football hasn't been played? -- continues to rank No. 2, but will likely be No. 3 in the BCS rankings when they come out later today.

There are only five unbeaten teams remaining: Oregon, Boise State, Auburn, TCU and Utah, after the upsets of formerly undefeated Michigan State and Missouri yesterday. That list will be reduced to at most four after next week, when TCU and Utah meet.

It will take a defeat to two of the remaining three unbeatens to get Boise State an invitation to the BCS title game, presuming Boise State stays undefeated. And even then, the Powers That Be will probably try to figure out a way to keep them out. Death to the BCS.

The full Top 25 rankings follow after the jump.
