With Alabama falling to Texas A&M, Notre Dame ascended to third in the SB Nation BlogPoll.

The Alabama Crimson Tide's loss to the Texas A&M Aggies was a boon for Notre Dame, which has moved up to No. 3 in college football's rankings, including the SB Nation BlogPoll. The BlogPoll, which collects votes from writers representing SB Nation's team blogs, mirrors the AP and Coaches polls at the top, with Notre Dame trailing the Oregon Ducks and Kansas State Wildcats.

A per-blog average of .3 points was all that separated Oregon and Kansas State, but Notre Dame came in firmly in the No. 3 spot. That said, the Irish did get four first-place votes, which was 20 fewer than Kansas State and 40 fewer than Oregon.

Notre Dame is likely to stay in that spot unless -- or until -- either Oregon or Kansas State gets upset. The Irish, of course, will have their own test at the end of the season when they visit the USC Trojans.
