Notre Dame vs. Boston College score update: Irish up 7-0

Notre Dame scored on its only possession in the first quarter and they lead Boston College, 7-0, after one quarter.

On the first possession of the game, Everett Golson led the Irish on a 13-play, 95-yard drive to put Notre Dame up 7-0. Golson capped off the push by running the ball for a 2-yard touchdown after completing 3-of-5 passes for 52 yards while Theo Riddick rushed four times for 25 yards on the drive. Notre Dame was 3-of-3 on third down and had five first downs on its scoring drive.

Boston College drove to the Notre Dame 11-yard line on their ensuing possession but quarterback Chase Rettig was sacked by Prince Shembo for a loss of 7 yards to conclude the first quarter.

The Eagles held the ball for 7:42 in the first quarter but were unable to score despite accumulating 114 yards of offense and six first downs.

Rettig was 8-of-12 passing for 92 yards in the first quarter.
