Northwestern looks to improve to 4-0 on the season against South Dakota.
With a win over South Dakota at 2:30 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network, Northwestern will improve to 4-0 and enter the Big Ten season undefeated.
The Wildcats are coming off a 22-13 win over Boston College last week. Since giving up 41 points and 596 total yards in the team's season-opening 42-41 win over Syracuse, the Northwestern defense has become stingier. They've given up 634 total yards and 26 total points to Boston College and Vanderbilt in the last two weeks.
South Dakota comes into the game at 1-1. The team beat Colgate on Sept. 8 and had a bye last week. South Dakota quarterback Josh Vander Maten is a dual-threat player, with nearly 400 combined rushing and passing yards and four combined rushing and passing touchdowns in two games this season.
This will be the first time the two schools have played each other.
