Northwestern Basketball Recruiting: Center Chier Ajou Commits To Wildcats

Stay connected for news and updates

The Northwestern Wildcats have received a commitment from 7'2" center Chier Ajou, though there are some concerns about his eligibility, according to the Tribune. It's possible he'll have to sit out as a redshirt his freshman season.

A source confirmed that Ajou has been admitted to Northwestern but that the NCAA has yet to rule on his eligibility. Ajou moved from South Sudan to the States in December 2008, making the early years of his transcript a challenge to interpret.

If he is ineligible as a freshman, he is slated to redshirt.

Ajou originally committed to New Mexico back in 2010. He is reportedly a first cousin of Bulls forward Luol Deng.
