Big Ten Football Standings 2012: Northwestern atop Legends division

Northwestern won its Big Ten opener and are currently atop the Legends division.

At 5-0 and coming off a win in their conference opener, the Northwestern Wildcats currently find themselves atop the Big Ten Legends division.

Northwestern is one of three 1-0 teams in the Legends division, joining Nebraska and Iowa. Ohio State is the only other undefeated team in the Big Ten. The Wildcats sit atop the division thanks in part to their strong play at home. Northwestern in 4-0 at home this season, including their Big Ten opening win against Indiana.

The Wildcats will go on the road for the first time since the season opener this week when they travel to Penn State to face the Nittany Lions. Penn State is tied with Ohio State in the Leaders division after the Nittany Lions won their conference opener against Illinois.

The Fighting Illini fell to 2-3 overall and are currently last in the Leaders division. Illinois is tied with Wisconsin and Indiana at 0-1, but the Fighting Illini are the only Big Ten team with three losses. Complete Big Ten standings can be found at Sports Illustrated.
