Northwestern (18-13 overall, 7-11 in the Big Ten) is making a school-record third consecutive postseason appearance and its sixth appearance in the NIT. The Wildcats defeated Minnesota in the opening round of the Big Ten tournament before losing a heartbreaker in overtime to No. 1 Ohio State in the quarterfinals.â†µâ†µ
Milwaukee is the regular-season champion of the Horizon League. Northwestern won the only previous meeting between the schools 80-44 Dec. 14, 1998 in Evanston.
