The Northwestern Wildcats are looking to extend their winning streak and get one step closer to bowl eligibility with a win over the Rice Owls on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats have won two straight games, both on the road in Big Ten play, following a five-game losing streak. Last week, they pulled off a clutch upset of Nebraska in Lincoln, and now the path to six wins and bowl eligibility appears more manageable.
The Owls are in must-win territory, as they have win out in order to reach bowl eligibility. They're coming off a 41-37 win over UTEP, which halted a three-game losing streak. Rice has had trouble stopping opposing offenses all season and they're going to need a big effort to slow down a Northwestern offense that ranks second in the Big Ten in total offense.
