Though the game got off to a slow start, Texas Tech has found its rhythm, jumping out to a 10-0 lead. Evan Watkins, the Northwestern quarterback, has looked better than in the last two regular season games he started, but has still missed open receivers at crucial points.

The Wildcats had pressure on Taylor Potts initially, but three straight long passes by Potts during a sixty yard drive led to the first touchdown of the game. Northwestern has been penalized heavily so far, to the tune of 30 yards through one quarter.
