Notre Dame moves up to No. 20 in this week's AP Top 25 Poll.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish moved up a couple spots to No. 20 in this week's AP Top 25 Poll following Saturday's 20-17 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers. The Irish didn't begin the season as a ranked team, but they've convinced voters to put them on the ballot over the past couple weeks.
Coming off the solid win against Purdue, the Irish will see their first major challenge of the season next Saturday against the Michigan State Spartans, currently ranked No. 10 in the nation by AP voters. It begins an absolutely brutal stretch for the Irish that sees the team face Michigan, Miami (Fla.), Stanford, BYU and Oklahoma.
In addition to Notre Dame, the Northwestern Wildcats have begun to get the attention of voters. Coming off a comeback 23-13 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, the Wildcats received five votes this week.
