The Illinois Fighting Illini staged their annual Orange and Blue Spring Game on Saturday afternoon. The yearly exhibition game gives Illini fans their first look at the 2012 Illinois football team, which will begin its regular season on September 1 against the Western Michigan Broncos.
In Saturday's spring game, several Illini stood out -- including freshman RB Josh Ferguson who managed to rush for 150 yards for an average of 7.5 yards per carry. Rushing for 139 more yards than the next best running back, Ferguson also caught a game-leading 6 passes for 30 yards.
QB Reilly O'Toole and QB Osei Miles added over a 100 passing yards each with O'Toole tossing a touchdown pass to DB/WR Terry Hawthorne.
