Chicago State Vs. Illinois Final Score: Fighting Illini Win Blowout, 90-43

The Illinois Fighting Illini had little trouble while defeating the Chicago State Cougars 90-43 on Sunday afternoon.

Nov 27, 2011 - The Illinois Fighting Illini hosted the Chicago State Cougars on Sunday afternoon and had little trouble winning their sixth consecutive game in a 90-43 blowout. Illinois opened up a 44-19 lead going into halftime, and completed dominated essentially the entire game.

It was an impressive defensive effort by Illinois, holding Chicago State to just 34 percent shooting. The Cougars failed to make a field goal in the game's final ten minutes, and failed to even score a point in the game's final four minutes. Illinois finished the game on a 22-4 run, scoring the game's final nine points.

Balance was key for Illinois, as five different players hit double-figures and eight different players scored at least seven points apiece. Myke Henry led the Fighting Illini with 14 points on 6-for-10 shooting, while D.J. Richardson, Meyers Leonard and Nnanna Egwu added 11 points each. Jeremy Robinson led the way for Chicago State with 14 points and 6 rebounds.
