Illinois And Notre Dame Wide Receivers Are SemiFinalists For Award

Two local college wide receivers are semifinalists for the prestigous Biletnikoff award. Notre Dame's Michael Floyd and Ilinois's A.J. Jenkins are among the ten semifinalists. The award is presented to the top wide receiver in college football.

Jenkins leads the Big 10 in receiving with 1133 yards. That total ranks sixth in the nation. The Illinois senior also broke the Big 10 receiving record when he had 268 yards receiving in a game earlier this season against Northwestern.

Floyd has 77 catches for the Irish this season to go along with 922 yards receiving. The Irish Junior ranks 20th nationally in receiving yards.

Joining Jenkins and Floyd as semifinalists are Keenan Allen (California), Justin Blackmon (Oklahoma State), Ryan Broyles (Oklahoma),  Patrick Edwards (Houston), Sammy Watkins (Clemson), Jordan White (Western Michigan),  Robert Woods (USC), and Kendall Wright (Baylor).

The finalists for the award will be announced on November 21st and the winner will be announced on December 8th.
