The White Sox open a three-game series against the Royals on Friday night.

The Chicago White Sox have been surprisingly successful so far this season, but they just haven't been able to handle the Kansas City Royals recently. The slide will need to end this week, though, as a three-game series between the two teams opens Friday night.

While the White Sox have been one of the better teams in the AL this year, the Royals have posted a 9-4 record against the South Siders this season. Things have been particularly bad of late as Chicago has lost four in a row to Kansas City following last month's sweep.

Francisco Liriano will take the mound looking to get Chicago on track, but he's been shaky as of late. After initially pitching pretty well in a White Sox uniform, the lefty has allowed five runs and 11 walks over nine innings during his past two outings.

Friday's game begins at 7:10 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on WCIU.
