White Sox Vs. Angels Preview: Chicago Opens Weekend Series On Friday Night

The Chicago White Sox open a three-game road series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Friday night.

The Chicago White Sox hold a two-game lead over the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central entering the action on Friday night, and while the Tigers take on the Minnesota Twins over the weekend the White Sox will matchup against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

In the series opener, Jake Peavy (11-11, 3.26 ERA) makes the start for Chicago, opposite Angels pitcher Ervin Santana (8-12, 5.08 ERA). The Sox have faced Santana once this season on Aug. 4, and they managed two earned runs and five hits over 6 innings off the righty in a losing effort

The rest of the series includes a matchup between Jose Quintana and Dan Haren on Saturday, and then wraps up with Gavin Floyd going against Jered Weaver.
