White Sox Vs. Royals Final Score: Chicago Grabs Narrow 3-2 Victory

The Chicago White Sox did something on Tuesday night that the Detroit Tigers, their chief rival in the A.L. Central, had trouble accomplishing earlier this month: they defeated the Kansas City Royals. It wasn't easy for the White Sox, but they nonetheless picked up a 3-2 victory in Kanas City.

The White Sox got out to an early lead on a leadoff homer by Alejandro De Aza, but the Royals came back in the bottom of the inning with a two-run single by Billy Butler. The teams would go scoreless until the top of the sixth when Gordon Beckham tied the game with a solo homer. The White Sox took the lead for good in the seventh when Alex Rios smacked a homer to left field.

Gavin Floyd was stellar on Tuesday, allowing only two earned runs through seven innings. Matt Thornton pitched a perfect eighth and picked up the first out in the ninth before giving way to Addison Reed, who secured his 28th save of the season.
