Three games up on the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central race with 16 to play, the Chicago White Sox are in good position to win the division and return to the playoffs for the first time since 2008. With a four-game win streak in tow, including a makeup win Monday night over Detroit to complete the two teams' season series, the South Siders open up a three-game series in Kansas City Tuesday night. All hands say the nearness of the postseason means the time is now to really hit the throttle:
"But (it’s) only as big as we make it," Adam Dunn said. "If we go to Kansas City and not play well it’s all for naught. Every one is big now. … If we don’t go to Kansas City and Anaheim and win games it means nothing."
