White Sox Vs. Orioles Preview: Chicago Goes For Split In Baltimore

Stay connected for news and updates

The Chicago White Sox dropped their first two games against the Baltimore Orioles this week, but will have a chance to salvage a split when they take the field on Thursday afternoon. The good news for Chicago is that the Detroit Tigers, who have been nipping at their heels in the NL Central for most of the second half, have dropped two games this week in Kansas City. The White Sox, shockingly, could actually open up an even bigger lead in the Central with a win on Wednesday.

On the hill for the White Sox will be Jose Quintana, who has lowered his ERA under three for the season by throwing quality starts in three of his four starts in August. He'll be opposed by Orioles starter Zach Britton, who has given up only two earned runs in 13.2 innings in his last two starts.

Game date/time: Thursday, Aug. 30, 11:35 a.m. CT

Location: Camden Yards, Baltimore, Md.

TV: WGN
