The Chicago White Sox open a three-game weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.
The Chicago White Sox couldn't quite pull off a deal for pitcher Zack Greinke, but that's only because the Los Angeles Angles came along with a better offer. On Friday, Greinke will appear at U.S. Cellular Field as a starting pitcher, but Sox hitters will be on the other end of that equation. Not quite what general manager Kenny Williams had hoped for, but Chicago will have to make due.
Greinke took the loss in his Angels debut on July 29 against the Tampa Bay Rays, but he pitched very well and allowed just two earned runs over seven innings. Meanwhile, the White Sox will turn to Philip Humber, who pitched well against the Texas Rangers back on July 28 (one earned run allowed over 6.0 innings).
Game Date & Time: Friday, August 3, 7:10 p.m. CT
TV: Comcast SportsNet
Location: U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago, Illinois
