Francisco Liriano allowed two earned runs over five-plus innings in the start. He left with a 2-1 lead after Kevin Youkilis' two-run homer in the top of the sixth had given the Sox a 2-1 lead, but he allowed a walk and a hit to lead off the bottom frame. The leadoff walk came around to score on a bases loaded walk issued by Jesse Crain.
An infield single from Adam Dunn in the top of the eighth gave Chicago the lead again, but Myers allowed the home run to Nate McLouth in the bottom frame as Baltimore took a 4-3 lead. The White Sox got the tying run to second with two outs in the ninth, but could not tie the game.
Youkilis went 2-for-4 with the homer, while Dewayne Wise went 1-for-4 with two runs scored.
With the loss and the Tigers being off, Chicago's lead in the AL Central moved down to two games.
