Alejandro De Aza Injury: White Sox Outfielder On Road To Return

Stay connected for news and updates

White Sox outfielder Alejandro De Aza might be making a return to the Chicago lineup in early September after a ribs injury sent him to the 15-day disabled list on August 18.

De Aza originally suffered the injury last Friday against the Royals when he bruised his left ribs sliding into second base, but participated in baseball activities on Friday, one week after the injury occurred.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura told reporters that the outfielder will likely play in the minors for a few games on rehab assignments before re-joining the White Sox lineup.

"I feel like something was stabbing me there," De Aza said about the injury. "I couldn't tell at the moment because it was painful all the way. Then after two or three days I figured out it was my oblique."
