White Sox Rotation: Gavin Floyd Will Stay In Rotation Despite Struggles

Chicago White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd lasted only 2.1 innings in his start vs. the New York Yankees on Monday night, giving up five hits and three earned runs while also walking four batters. The outing raised his season ERA to 4.56 and his season WHIP to 1.42, yet despite his struggles, White Sox manager Robin Ventura told reporters on Tuesday that Floyd's spot in the team's rotation is safe.

The White Sox had shifted to a six-man rotation in order to preserve the stamina and health of its starters (most notably of Chris Sale), but ditched that after moving Philip Humber to the bullpen. The White Sox could move Humber back to the rotation, but he's been worse than Floyd in 2012 as a starter.
