White Sox Vs. Royals Final Score: Chicago Survives No-Hit Scare But Loses 5-2

Jeremy Guthrie held the Chicago White Sox hitless for 6.2 innings before the Kansas City Royals rallied for a 5-2 win on Sunday. Guthrie went 7.2 innings giving up two runs (none earned) on three hits while striking out five.

White Sox starter Jose Quintana was also solid, giving up two runs in seven innings while striking out five.

The Royals got on the board in the sixth inning when Salvador Perez hit a two-RBI double.

The White Sox finally got a hit in the seventh on a bobble by Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer, and later in the eighth would again benefit from Hosmer's shaky defense, scoring two runs on an error.

The Royals answered in the bottom of the eighth against Jesse Crain, when Perez came through again with an RBI single. The team would add an insurance run later in the inning on an error by A.J. Pierzynski.
