Stay connected for news and updates

The Chicago White Sox won't be heading into the All-Star break on a six-game winning streak. The Toronto Blue Jays assured as much with an 11-9 victory on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Field that was characterized by shoddy umpiring and a pair of struggling young starters.

White Sox starter Dylan Axelrod got killed, allowing six hits and seven earned runs over three innings. Axelrod helped Toronto build an 8-4 lead until the Sox started a comeback by scoring four runs in the bottom in the fifth. Alejandro De Aza made the final out in the ninth inning for Chicago with two runners on-base.

Chicago falls to 47-38 with the loss, while the Blue Jays get back to .500 at 43-43.
