The Detroit Tigers, who are the White Sox's biggest competition for the AL Central crown, acquired RHP Anibal Sanchez and infielder Omar Infante in a deal with the Miami Marlins on Monday afternoon.

With the Marlins slipping further behind in the National League East, the team agreed to trade second baseman Omar Infante and starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez to the Tigers in a package that includes right-handed pitcher Jacob Turner.

No official announcement has been made, but the deal was agreed upon shortly before the Marlins, who are 11 1/2 games back in the NL East, opened a three-game series with the Braves.
