Australian reliever RHP Shane Lindsay has re-signed with the Chicago White Sox, MLB Trade Rumors is reporting. The 27-year-old played for the White Sox in 2011, spending much of the season in Double-A and Triple-A. He made his major league debut with the club as a September callup, pitching a scoreless inning on September 2, 2011 -- his first appearance in the majors.
Lindsay signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers following the 2011 season, but pitched in only 8 games with their Triple-A team before being released. He then signed with the Chicago Cubs, where he pitched in 4 minor league games and was released again in June.
According to PITCHF/x data, Lindsay throws a mid-90s fastball and occasionally mixes in a low-80s curve and high-80s slider.
