John Danks Injury: White Sox SP Says He's Ready To Face Live Hitters

After a bullpen session on Sunday, Chicago White Sox starting pitcher John Danks told ESPN Chicago's Chris Silva that he's only a few rehab starts away from his return. Danks has been on the disabled list retroactive to May 20 with a sore left shoulder.

Whether it be in a rehab start or get out on the mound I don’t know but I’m ready to get out there and face some hitters. That’s kind of the only time I can really gauge how I feel. Get some adrenaline going and have a hitter in there. Start thinking about getting him out rather than how I’m feeling every second.

Danks also added that he's unsure at the moment what the team's plans are for him. In his last appearance before hitting the DL, Danks pitched 6.1 shutout innings against the Chicago Cubs, easily his best performance in weeks. The lefty has struggled in 2012, posting a 5.70 ERA with 30 strikeouts and 23 walks over 53.2 innings.
