The Chicago White Sox lost 5-3 to the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday night in the rubber match of a three-game series between the two teams at Busch Stadium. Chicago's bullpen was lights out on the night, but that came after Gavin Floyd struggled on the mound once again.

In 4.2 innings, Floyd allowed five runs on eight hits. The bullpen would come in and pitch 3.1 scoreless innings after Floyd was pulled, but the White Sox needed more offense if they were going to come away with the series finale. Other than a three-run homer by Adam Dunn in the sixth inning, Chicago did little to nothing on offense all night.

In the bottom of the sixth, the White Sox strung together a pair of singles before Dunn's homer, but that about sums up the entire night in terms of offensive production by the team. Other than that stretch, Chicago's offense mustered just two singles and two walks.
