When the Chicago White Sox announced that Chris Sale would be returning to the bulllpen, it wasn't entirely clear if the move would be permanent. According to Scott Merkin, Sale will be the team's closer for the rest of the 2012 season, and perhaps beyond.
It's a never say never sort of attitude on Sale returning to the rotation, but he will be closer for the rest of 2012 at the least

Sale was 3-1 with a 2.81 ERA as a starter; he struck out 29 and walked eight in 32 innings of work.
