A robbed homer, three explosive half innings and some solid swing-and-a-miss inducing pitching. Yes, through three innings, the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians are off to a rather exhilarating start. As the teams head into the fourth at U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago leads 8-5.
The Indians would quickly erase the Sox's early lead by scoring five in the top of the third inning. Brantley doubled in three runs in the frame, and then came home when second baseman Jason Kipinis blasted his seventh homer of the season.
The Sox's offense would again to work in the bottom of the third, scoring four runs. Konerko drove in his second run of the game with a ground-rule double to score Adam Dunn. Dayan Viciedo would cap the inning with a two-run homer, his 10th of the year.
