White Sox Roster 2012: Eric Stults Claimed By Padres On Waivers

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports is reporting that the San Diego Padres have claimed veteran long man LHP Eric Stults from the Chicago White Sox:

The White Sox put Stults on waivers in an attempt to pass the lefty back into the minor leagues, but the Padres had other things in mind. Stults, who has pitched 163 and 2/3 innings in his 6-year MLB career, threw only 6 and 2/3 innings for the White Sox in 2012.

He got his first action of the season in a spot start against the Cleveland Indians on May 7, pitching 6 innings of 2-run baseball. He then made an appearance out of the bullpen, throwing 2/3 scoreless innings.

In the minors, Stults started five games for the Sox and managed an impressive 2.20 ERA and 2.43 FIP in 28 and 2/3 innings.
