White Sox Vs. Cubs: Sox Manager Avoids Annual Wrigley Field Controversy

Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura will opt out of what had become a yearly media storm for former manager Ozzie Guillen. When the new southside manager was asked about thoughts concerning the Chicago Cubs home stadium -- the 99-year-old Wrigley Field -- Ventura elected to play it low-key:

"I’m not going there: It’s fine," Ventura said. "It is an old stadium, but it’s a fun stadium to play in. I enjoy playing there. The amenities aren’t great, but we are just playing baseball."

Guillen often accused Wrigley of being one of the -- if not the -- worst ballparks in the MLB, but Ventura has certainly adopted a a more peaceable perspective:

"It’s fun. It’s a great atmosphere," he said. "Any time you are in a city that has two teams, those games mean a lot. It’s fun for the fans. It’s good for us too."
